Famous South African township is getting a R5-billion Mega Smart City and shopping mall with a DStv store

The R5-billion Leratong Smart City in the Kagiso township is planned to feature advanced digital infrastructure, renewable energy generation capacity, and integrated infrastructure.The development recently reached a milestone with the opening of the Leratong City Shopping Centre in late October 2026. The new mall has a Shoprite, Pick n Pay, and a DStv outlet, among 89 retail tenants.
