What late Javits Frimpong wrote about his family in his handwritten journal
In the personal notes, Javits described his family as a treasure, highlighting the love, support and encouragement he received from his parents and other relatives.
Javits Frimpong also recalled how his family regularly advised him to avoid associating with children they considered a bad influence.
“Family are the people who help me when no one will even attempt to help me, and they are a treasure to me. We spend time eating together, playing games together, and my family likes to have fun,” portions of the handwritten journal read.
He went on to identify his parents as the most important members of his family, acknowledging their role in motivating and guiding him.
“The most important members of my family are my mother and dad. My family always motivate me that I shouldn’t cooperate with the bad kids. My family are like treasure to me,” he wrote.
The journal also offered a glimpse into Javits’ personality, ambitions and experiences following his relocation from Ghana to the United States.
In another entry, he described himself as a intelligent person who enjoyed reading books and exploring forests because of his love for nature.
“I was kinda intelligent because I liked to read books and explore the forest to see the beauty of nature,” he wrote.
Javits also reflected on the differences between Ghana and the United States, recalling that teachers in Ghana often beat students during lessons, a practice he believed created fear and discouraged some pupils from expressing themselves in class.
“I want to go really far with education because you will earn money when you are being educated,” he stated.
Javits reflected also on his personal growth and the challenges that can accompany success, suggesting that some people become hostile when others begin to make progress.
“I’m doing good on my journey and figuring out who I am. I figured that when you start to win, people start to hate you, and they try to bring you down,” he wrote.
