What Oburu Said Hours After Sakaja Joined ODM
ODM Party leader Oburu Oginga has officially welcomed Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja into the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) following his decision to join the party.
In a message shared after hosting Sakaja at his home on Monday evening, Oburu said he was happy to receive the Nairobi governor into the ODM family. He described the visit as a great pleasure and welcomed Sakaja as one of the party’s newest members.
Oburu said Sakaja’s decision to join ODM was an important step as the party continues to expand its political influence across the country. He also expressed confidence that the governor’s arrival would strengthen the party as it prepares for future political activities.
“Karibu sana to ODM,” Oburu said while officially welcoming Sakaja into the party.
Sakaja’s move to ODM has attracted attention in the political scene, especially because he was previously associated with the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
His decision is expected to raise fresh political discussions about ODM’s growing influence in Nairobi and its plans ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The governor’s entry also comes at a time when ODM is working to attract new leaders and strengthen its support across different parts of the country.
Oburu’s warm reception shows that the party is ready to work with new members and give them space within its political family.
However, many Kenyans will be watching closely to see how Sakaja’s new political home will influence his leadership in Nairobi and the country’s changing political landscape.
