Wajackoyah meets Russian business leaders, lectures at Moscow State University. What’s cooking?

Roots Party of Kenya leader Prof. George Wajackoyah has shared highlights of his recent trip to Russia, where he held engagements with business leaders in Moscow, raising questions about his next political and economic moves ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a statement, Wajackoyah said he had an opportunity to engage with business leaders in Moscow, where discussions centred on strengthening trade and investment partnerships between Kenya and Russia.

“The discussions reaffirmed a fundamental economic principle: international partnerships must go beyond diplomacy and translate into tangible economic opportunities for our people,” he said.

The professor noted that Kenya and Russia have significant untapped opportunities for cooperation in trade, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, energy, infrastructure and investment.

He said deliberate partnerships between the two countries could unlock new markets, attract investment, facilitate knowledge transfer and create jobs.

During the visit, Wajackoyah also held a meet-and-greet session and delivered a public lecture at Moscow State University, engaging audiences on leadership, academia, law, public policy and international cooperation.

For a man who has already declared his intention to contest the presidency in 2027, the question remains: what exactly could be cooking?

Upon his return, the Roots Party leader is expected to turn his attention back to local politics, urging supporters to continue rallying behind his presidential ambitions ahead of the next General Election.
