Youth Olympic Games: Ghana beach volleyball team records second win with victory over Morocco

Ghana’s beach volleyball team have recorded their second victory at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, after beating Morocco 2-0 in the Lucky Loser round on Monday, November 2.

The victory at Saly Beach keeps Ghana’s campaign alive and sees the team advance further in the competition.

Ghana had endured a difficult start to their Pool C campaign, losing their opening match 2-0 to Australia’s Ryan Edgar and Thomas Turner on October 31.

The duo Justice Adusei Amoafo and Daniel Lartey suffered another 2-0 defeat against Kazakhstan’s Alikhan Agabek and Orazali Sagynysh but recorded their first 2-0 win against Saudi Arabia on Sunday, November 1.

The Ghanaian pair continued their improved performance against Morocco, defeating Yasser Errazi and his teammate 2-0 to secure their second win of the tournament.

The result offers Ghana a timely boost as they continue their pursuit of a strong finish at Dakar 2026, the first Youth Olympic Games to be staged on African soil. Ghana are represented by 13 athletes across various sporting disciplines at the Games.
