‘Kiti Cha Ugavana Wa Nairobi Utakionea Viusasa’ Top ODM Politician Tells Gachagua as Sakaja Joins ODM

ODM Chairperson Gladys Wanga has sparked fresh political debate after sending a strong message to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua following Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s decision to join the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Wanga appeared confident that Sakaja’s move would strengthen ODM’s political position in Nairobi ahead of the 2027 General Election. Her remarks have also raised questions about Gachagua’s political plans in the capital.

While reacting to Sakaja’s defection, Wanga told Gachagua that the Nairobi governorship race could bring unexpected results. She used the statement, “Gachagua, kiti cha ugavana wa Nairobi utakionea viusasa,” suggesting that the former Deputy President should prepare for surprises in the city’s political contest.

Sakaja’s decision to leave the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and join ODM has attracted attention across the political divide. His move could change political alliances and influence the competition for key positions in Nairobi.

The Nairobi governor has remained an important figure in the city’s politics because of his leadership role and influence among voters.

Wanga’s remarks are likely to attract reactions from Gachagua’s supporters and other political leaders who are closely following developments in Nairobi.

As the 2027 elections approach, political parties are working to strengthen their support and attract influential leaders.

Sakaja’s entry into ODM could therefore become an important development in the battle for Nairobi’s political future.
