Kotoko Coach Diogo Peral Under Scrutiny After Video Appears to Show Him Punching Medeama Player

Asante Kotoko assistant coach Diogo Peral has been drawn into controversy following an alleged physical confrontation with Medeama SC player Eben Adade during a Ghana Premier League match.

According to a report by GhanaWeb on Monday, November 2, 2026, footage published by the news outlet reportedly shows Peral punching Adade in the face during the encounter.

An accompanying image from the report shows the Medeama player lying on the ground following the alleged incident. The footage has since raised concerns about the conduct of technical team members during competitive football matches.

The development has attracted attention because coaches are expected to maintain discipline and exercise control, even when tensions rise during matches. Although football encounters can become heated, physical confrontations involving coaches and opposing players raise questions about sportsmanship and professional conduct.

However, some important details surrounding the incident remain unclear. The report does not establish what happened immediately before the alleged punch, whether Adade sustained any injuries or whether match officials witnessed the confrontation.

There has also been no response from Peral, Asante Kotoko or Medeama regarding the allegations in the supplied report.

The incident could also attract the attention of the Ghana Football Association, particularly if the footage and reports from match officials are reviewed as part of a possible disciplinary process.

A proper investigation would be necessary to establish the full circumstances before any conclusions are reached. The outcome could have implications for the individuals involved and raise further discussions about discipline and accountability in Ghanaian football.
