Ghanaians Left In Shòck As Fresh Details Emerge About The Sakumono Murder Suspect

According to a report by JoyNews today being Monday, November 2, 2026, the 72-year-old man arrested in connection with the murder of two people at NTHC Estate in Sakumono is reported to have been found with a pistol following his apprehension in the Ashanti Region.

The suspect, identified as Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, was arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command at a hideout in Tikrom, near Ejisu, on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

His arrest comes after investigations into the deaths of Irene Atuguba, 47, and George Atuguba, 57, who were reportedly murdered at NTHC Estate in Sakumono. The incident had generated widespread concern, with the police coming under pressure to identify and apprehend the individual allegedly responsible for the killings.

Following the arrest, officers reportedly retrieved a pistol from the suspect. The recovery of the firearm is expected to form part of the evidence being examined by investigators as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
