Top Sifuna Ally Shows Up at Millie Odhiambo’s Night Event as ODM Leaders Remain Missing in Action

Political developments surrounding the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) continue to attract attention as divisions within the party emerge ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The presence of a close ally of Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna at an event hosted by Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo has drawn interest amid the changing political alignments within the opposition.

Millie has recently attracted attention for her position on the internal disagreements facing ODM. She previously raised concerns about the party’s handling of Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Siaya Governor James Orengo, warning against decisions that could deepen divisions within the party.

Her remarks have added to the debate about the future direction of ODM following the death of its former leader, Raila Odinga.

The event also comes at a time when Sifuna’s Linda Mwananchi Movement is seeking to establish itself as a significant political force ahead of the next general election.

On October 30, Sifuna officially launched the movement’s headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi, during an event attended by prominent opposition figures, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and DAP-K leader Eugene Wamalwa.

The gathering highlighted the growing engagement between leaders from different opposition formations as discussions about unity and a possible joint presidential candidate continue.

Meanwhile, ODM faces the challenge of managing internal disagreements while maintaining support among its traditional strongholds.

The attendance of political allies at public events is likely to attract further scrutiny as leaders position themselves ahead of 2027.

However, the absence of particular ODM leaders at Millie’s night event, and the identity of the Sifuna ally who attended, require confirmation before drawing conclusions about their political significance.
