The Embarrassment Is Unbearable: Awal Mohammed Highlights Rising Anger In Akwatia

Political commentator Awal Mohammed has voiced sharp criticism over the deepening frustration among residents of Akwatia in Ghana’s Eastern Region, warning that public patience with local leadership has reached a breaking point. In a Facebook post shared on November 1, 2026, titled “The people of Akwatia are angry. The embarrassment is becoming unbearable,” Mohammed delivered an urgent call for political accountability and responsive governance.

Mohammed expressed profound disappointment over what he described as a growing disconnect between public expectations and political representation. He noted that residents who were once proud of their constituency’s standing now feel humiliated by the poor performance and conduct of their elected representatives.

He emphasized that political power must be anchored in service and transparency, warning that neglecting constituents inevitably converts public hope into deep-seated anger.

The commentator’s critique reflects broader concerns regarding political trust, credibility, and governance across Ghana. According to Mohammed, leadership credibility cannot be sustained on empty rhetoric or unfulfilled promises; it requires consistent, tangible results that uphold the dignity of the community. He stressed that local disillusionment in areas like Akwatia often signals a wider national impatience with underperforming public officials.

Mohammed’s reflection serves as both a rebuke and a warning to leaders who take public mandate for granted. He urged political figures to embrace humility, listen to their constituents, and prioritize genuine development over personal ambition.

Ultimately, his post highlights the fragile nature of public trust, concluding that leaders must act swiftly to restore confidence through meaningful action, responsiveness, and dedicated service to the people of Akwatia.
