Bandari Strike Early but Settle for Draw Against Nairobi United
Bandari FC missed an opportunity to claim their first victory of the 2026/27 FKF Premier League season after being held to a 1-1 draw by Nairobi United at Police Sacco Stadium on Sunday.
The coastal side made an immediate impact through former AFC Leopards midfielder Said Tsuma, whose powerful header gave them the lead inside the opening minute.
However, Mark Kithome restored parity for the hosts in the first half, leaving both teams to settle for a point despite their efforts to find a winner.
Bandari entered the encounter looking to end a difficult opening to the campaign, having gone four matches without a victory.
Nairobi United were in a similar position, making the contest an important opportunity for both sides to get their seasons moving.
Tsuma gave Bandari the perfect start when he rose to meet an early delivery and directed his header beyond the Nairobi United goalkeeper.
The goal put the visitors in control before the hosts had time to establish their rhythm.
Lawrence Okoth also caused problems for the Nairobi United defence with his forward runs as Bandari looked to build on their advantage.
However, the visitors suffered an early setback of their own when goalkeeper Allaine Ngeleka picked up an injury in the 10th minute. He was stretchered off and replaced by Joseph Ochuka.
Bandari subsequently dropped deeper as Nairobi United began to see more of the ball. The hosts gradually improved their attacking play and found the equaliser in the 30th minute, with Kithome finishing off a well-worked move.
Neither side managed to regain the lead before the interval, and the second half produced no further goals.
The draw extended Bandari’s wait for a league victory, leaving Charles Okere’s side with more work to do as they attempt to improve their position in the standings.
