The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said President Bola Tinubu has not reneged on his campaign promise to improve electricity supply in the country, insisting that he will present his scorecard and explain outstanding challenges to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party said the President remained committed to addressing the challenges in the power sector, including estimated billing, unreliable electricity supply and inadequate infrastructure.

Spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Alake, stated this in a press statement issued on Sunday, November 1, 2026, while responding to public commentary on Tinubuโ€™s electricity campaign promise ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Alake recalled that Tinubu, during a meeting with members of the Organised Private Sector in Lagos before the 2023 elections, promised to end estimated billing and ensure Nigerians had access to stable and reliable electricity.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has accused journalists of misrepresenting the date he carried a placard during a prayer walk, alleging that the report falsely linked the incident to former President Goodluck Jonathanโ€™s administration.

Adeboye said the incident occurred in 2020, five years after Jonathan left office in 2015, insisting that the walk was organised to pray against insecurity and killings in the country.

The cleric spoke to his congregation on Sunday during the churchโ€™s November Thanksgiving service, where he recounted how the report portrayed him as a wicked man for carrying a placard allegedly against the former president.

He said the report gained widespread acceptance without journalists verifying the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two male suspects, identified as Umeh Thankgod, aged 32, and Sunday Ozor, aged 24, and recovered a stolen blue Toyota Camry following a distress alert from operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps during a routine vehicle registration verification exercise.

Police investigation revealed that the vehicle was reportedly stolen from the residence of a 90-year-old retired Professor at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.

In a press statement released on Sunday, the commandโ€™s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said the suspects were arrested on October 28, 2026, by operatives attached to the State Intelligence Department at the Old Spare Parts Market, Mgbuka, Obosi.

Residents of Magboro, Ibafo and neighbouring communities in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have accused the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) of unfair treatment following a prolonged power outage that has disrupted businesses and daily activities.

The affected communities have reportedly been without electricity for about seven days, leaving residents frustrated over what they described as unequal power distribution and excessive electricity bills despite poor supply.

The residents expressed concern that while some streets and estates within the same area enjoy stable electricity, others remain in darkness for days, raising questions about the fairness of power distribution.

Some residents alleged that the situation amounted to robbing Peter to pay Paul, calling on IBEDC to address the disparity and ensure that electricity is distributed more equitably across the affected communities.

A Magboro resident, identified as Penheal in a community WhatsApp group, lamented the poor electricity supply and the absence of compensation for periods without power.
