How Kenyans Can Start Investing Through Safaricom’s Ziidi Using M-Pesa
Safaricom has outlined a simple process allowing M-Pesa customers to start investing through its Ziidi Money Market Fund (MMF), giving users an opportunity to grow their money directly from their mobile phones.
In an update shared on Sunday, November 1, 2026, the telecommunications company encouraged customers to explore the investment platform, particularly those who are new to investing or looking for alternative ways to grow their savings.
Ziidi allows M-Pesa users to transfer money from their mobile wallets into an investment account, where the funds are invested in a money market fund. The service can be accessed through the M-Pesa application or a USSD menu, making it available to both smartphone and feature-phone users.
Customers interested in joining the platform can begin by opening their M-Pesa application and logging into their accounts. Those using ordinary mobile phones can dial *334# to access the M-Pesa menu.
After accessing either platform, users should navigate to the Financial Services section and select Ziidi to begin the registration process.
The next step involves following the instructions provided on the screen, using the M-Pesa PIN to authenticate the registration and completing the process by transferring the amount they wish to invest.
Once the transaction is successfully completed, the money moves from the customer’s M-Pesa wallet into their Ziidi investment account. Users can subsequently monitor their investment balances and earnings through the service.
Safaricom has also highlighted the convenience of accessing funds through M-Pesa. Customers can withdraw their investments directly into their mobile wallets, while the platform allows them to keep track of their daily earnings.
The company has further indicated that deposits and withdrawals through the service do not attract additional transaction charges. Customers can also begin with relatively small amounts instead of having to commit large sums of money.
However, Ziidi operates as a money market fund rather than an ordinary mobile savings wallet. This means investment returns are not fixed or guaranteed, as earnings depend on the performance of the fund.
Kenyans interested in using the service are therefore advised to understand its investment terms, applicable risks, fees and withdrawal conditions before committing their money.
