TwinsDntBeg Declares NPP a Better Party Than NDC

Popular Ghanaian photography duo TwinsDntBeg have declared the New Patriotic Party (NPP) a better-performing political party than the National Democratic Congress (NDC), arguing that the latter has failed to introduce policies that have significantly improved the lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

The twin photographers expressed their views during an interview with Nana Romeo on UTV’s Atuu Show, where they compared the performance of the two political parties since Ghana returned to constitutional democracy in 1992.

According to them, their assessment is based on their observations of the various administrations and the policies implemented over the years.

Reflecting on former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration, the duo identified initiatives such as the School Feeding Programme, Metro Mass Transit and the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) as important interventions that contributed to national development.

They explained that they were still in primary school during Kufuor’s presidency but witnessed the introduction and growth of these programmes.

The photographers also commended former President Nana Akufo-Addo for introducing the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy, describing it as a significant educational intervention whose broader benefits would become more apparent over time.

In their view, the policies introduced under the two NPP administrations have had a more visible impact on the population than those implemented by the NDC.

“Comparing the two, the NPP has performed way better than the NDC. The NDC, with all their 30-plus years combined they’ve been in power, we haven’t seen any policy they’ve brought that has positively affected the ordinary Ghanaian,” they stated.

The NPP governed Ghana from 2001 to 2009 under Kufuor and from 2017 to 2025 under Akufo-Addo.

The NDC, on the other hand, held power from 1993 to 2001 under Jerry John Rawlings and from 2009 to 2017 under the administrations of John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama. Mahama completed Mills’ tenure following his death in 2012 before leaving office in 2017 and returning to power in January 2025.

TwinsDntBeg is made up of twin brothers Emmanuel and Samuel Appiah Gyan, who have established themselves in Ghana’s photography industry.

The duo have photographed several prominent personalities, including former President Akufo-Addo, and have also been associated with former Second Lady Samira Bawumia as her official photographers.
