Duduzile Zuma Spotted at EFF’s Tshela Thupa Rally in Soweto Amid Final Election Push

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla was among the prominent figures spotted attending the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Tshela Thupa Rally at Orlando Stadium in Soweto on Saturday, as political parties intensified their final campaigns ahead of the Local Government Elections.

The rally, which the EFF described as the “Mother of All Rallies”, attracted thousands of supporters dressed in the party’s signature red colours, filling much of the 40,000-capacity stadium.

Zuma-Sambudla’s appearance attracted attention, particularly as the EFF seeks to strengthen its support ahead of the November 4 elections.

The Tshela Thupa Rally traditionally marks the party’s final major campaign gathering. EFF leader Julius Malema is expected to address supporters, outline the party’s municipal priorities and deliver final instructions to campaign volunteers.

The party has placed particular emphasis on municipal reform, promising to eliminate tender systems, bring outsourced general workers back into municipal employment and provide free basic services to qualifying grant beneficiaries.

The EFF is also facing increased competition following the emergence of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, which has attracted support from sections of its traditional voter base.

With voting approaching, the Soweto gathering provided the red berets with an opportunity to mobilise supporters and appeal to undecided voters.

However, the extent to which the rally translates into electoral support will become clearer when South Africans cast their ballots.
