Patrick Asiedu suspended for Kotoko’s crunch clash against Medeama SC
Asante Kotoko will be without first-choice left-back Patrick Asiedu for Sunday’s Ghana Premier League showdown against Medeama SC after the defender picked up a suspension for accumulating yellow cards.
The 24-year-old has been one of the Porcupine Warriors’ standout performers this season and will be unavailable for the Matchday fixture at the Baba Yara Stadium after reaching the disciplinary threshold.
Asiedu’s absence comes as a significant blow for Kotoko, with the defender playing a key role at both ends of the pitch through his defensive solidity, attacking runs and consistency.
His suspension leaves Kotoko head coach Hamza Obeng with the task of reshuffling his backline ahead of what is expected to be one of the club’s toughest league assignments of the season.
The Porcupine Warriors will be eager to maintain their momentum against a strong Medeama side, but they will have to do so without one of their most reliable performers.
With both clubs aiming to strengthen their positions in the Ghana Premier League standings, Sunday’s encounter is expected to be fiercely contested, making Asiedu’s absence an even bigger setback for the Kumasi-based giants.
