Two arrested over murder of female tricycle rider in Bono East

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two suspects over the murder of a female tricycle rider and the theft of her tricycle at Afrancho, near Konkoli, in the Trede District of the Bono East Region.

The suspects, Peter Nchor Asadigina, 21, and Mudasel Dramani, 19, were picked up at Hansua on Friday, October 30, 2026, after a tip-off.

According to preliminary investigations, the two hired the rider at the Ampabame Lorry Station in Kumasi on October 29 to take them to Afrancho. There, the police say, they attacked and killed her, then drove off with her green Bajaj tricycle.

The suspects were arrested while travelling towards Techiman. The police say they planned to relocate and use the stolen tricycle for commercial work.

A search turned up a number plate, registration M-26-AE 2047, along with eight mobile phones, including an iPhone 12 Pro believed to belong to the deceased. Officers also found three SIM cards, an MTN MiFi device, a bunch of keys, two lighters and a jackknife cover.

The woman’s body has been deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy. The two suspects are in police custody, assisting with investigations.
