Sakumono Double Murder: GH¢500K Loan Dispute Turns Deadly As Police Place GH¢100K Bounty on Suspect

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Beatrice Mumuni, 47, following the alleged murder of two relatives at Sakumono in the Greater Accra Region. Authorities have placed a GH¢100,000 reward on information that leads to the arrest of the principal suspect, Samuel Christopher Osei Anto, who is currently on the run.

TV3 Ghana reported on Saturday, October 31, 2026, that the victims, identified as 57-year-old George Atuguba and his 47-year-old niece, Irene Atuguba, were allegedly shot at their home in NTHC Estate on Friday, October 30.

According to preliminary police findings, Mumuni allegedly accompanied Osei Anto to the residence before the fatal incident.

Investigators suspect that the incident was linked to a GH¢500,000 debt. George Atuguba had reportedly borrowed the money from Osei Anto but allegedly failed to repay the loan.

The suspect is said to have visited the victims’ home with Mumuni on the morning of the shooting to demand his money. The discussion reportedly escalated into an argument, after which Osei Anto allegedly opened fire on George Atuguba and Irene Atuguba.

Police officers from the Sakumono District Command responded to the scene and found the two victims lying in pools of blood.

They were transported to a hospital, but medical personnel confirmed their deaths. Their remains have since been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary for preservation and post-mortem examinations.

Following the incident, the Accra Regional Police Command announced a GH¢100,000 reward for credible information that would help authorities apprehend Osei Anto.

Members of the public who have information about the suspect’s location are encouraged to contact the nearest police station or call 191 or 18555.

The Baatsona Divisional Police Command is leading the investigation, while officers continue the search for the suspect.
