I’ve Had The Talent To Act From The Beginning But People Didn’t Take Actors Serious Then -Ogba

Nigerian actress, Victoria Adeboye, popularly known as Ogba, has revealed that she had a passion and talent for acting from childhood but could not openly express her interest in the profession because of the negative perception of actors at the time.

Speaking in an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Adeboye said people did not regard acting as a serious profession when she was growing up, as theatre artistes were often viewed as unserious individuals who moved around without a clear purpose.

She explained that this attitude discouraged her from openly declaring her interest in acting, despite knowing that she had the talent from an early age.

The actress also recalled that she was an outspoken child and had always been different from other members of her family, noting that acting was something she naturally had in her.

In her words, “I’ve had the talent from the onset. But people didn’t take actors as serious minded people at that time. They saw theater artistes as unserious people who just roams about. People didn’t see it as a profession then. So, that didn’t allow me open up that I was interested in acting. But everything aligned at the long run. When I was young I was outspoken I have been the different one in my house from the onset. Everything about me was different. So I had it in me already.”
