Vilakazi Explains Da Cruz’s Approach to Showboating

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mfundo Vilakazi has spoken about head coach Fernando Da Cruz’s attitude towards showboating, explaining how the coach’s guidance has influenced his development as a player.

Vilakazi is known for his technical ability, creativity and confidence when taking on opponents. His style of play often involves using individual skills to create opportunities, making him one of the exciting young talents at the club.

However, the midfielder has indicated that Da Cruz’s approach has helped him understand how to use his abilities more effectively within the team’s overall playing style.

The coach’s position on showboating appears to focus on ensuring that individual flair contributes positively to the team’s performance rather than becoming an unnecessary distraction. For a player like Vilakazi, who enjoys expressing himself with the ball, understanding when to attempt skills and when to make simpler decisions is an important part of his growth.

Da Cruz’s influence has also provided the young midfielder with an opportunity to improve different aspects of his game. Beyond entertaining supporters, Vilakazi is expected to make decisions that help Kaizer Chiefs create scoring opportunities and maintain possession.

The development of young players remains important for Amakhosi as they seek greater consistency and stronger performances. Vilakazi’s progress under the current coaching setup could therefore be significant for both his personal career and the club’s ambitions.

His comments offer an insight into the relationship between the coach’s tactical expectations and the freedom players have to express their individual qualities on the pitch.
