Wilbroda Questions Ruto’s Communication Style During Radio Interview, Kenyans React

Kenyan actress and radio presenter Wilbroda has sparked debate online after criticising President William Ruto’s style of addressing Kenyans during public speeches.

Speaking during an interview on Milele FM, the media personality questioned why the Head of State frequently reminds citizens of his position instead of concentrating on delivering messages that directly address their concerns.

While referring to the President as Baba Charlene, Wilbroda expressed frustration with phrases he regularly uses when speaking to the public, including “Mimi kama Rais” and “Mimi kama Commander in Chief.”

In a video shared by SPM Buzz KE, the presenter questioned the need for Ruto to repeatedly introduce himself through his official titles, arguing that Kenyans already understand the position he holds.

She also raised concerns about presidential addresses that leave citizens with unanswered questions rather than providing clear explanations on issues affecting them.

Wilbroda appeared animated during the discussion, using hand gestures to emphasise her arguments as she called for more direct and meaningful communication from leaders.

Her remarks have since attracted reactions from social media users, with Kenyans expressing different opinions about her criticism.

Some supported her position, arguing that presidential speeches should focus on explaining government decisions and responding to the challenges facing ordinary citizens.

Others viewed her comments as a humorous but significant contribution to the ongoing public discussion about leadership and accountability.

The reference to Ruto as Baba Charlene also attracted attention among social media users.

Wilbroda is known for combining entertainment with commentary on social issues. Her latest remarks have once again highlighted public expectations regarding how political leaders communicate with citizens.

The debate continues as Kenyans share their views on the importance of clear and meaningful presidential addresses.
