EPL: Carrick makes decision on removing Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United Captain

Manchester United manager, Michael Carrick has confirmed that the club is ready to “move forward” with Bruno Fernandes as team captain.

Carrick left Fernandes on the substitutes’ bench for Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, a decision that followed the Portugal midfielder’s public criticism of his manager’s tactics following a Champions League loss to Como.

However, both men held clear-the-air talks ahead of Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Chelsea, with Carrick publicly confirming that Fernandes will retain the captain’s armband.

Hailing Fernandes’ dedication to the squad and the club as a whole, Carrick addressed the situation directly during his press briefing.

“Bruno is fully committed to this football club,” Carrick told reporters. “I’ve got no issues with that, we move forward.”
