BREAKING: Gachagua Reveals the Amount Ruto Allegedly Paid Musalia to Buy His ANC Party

Ex-Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has levelled fresh accusations at Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, asserting that President William Ruto handed him KSh20 million to absorb his Amani National Congress (ANC) party.

Gachagua disclosed that he personally led the talks for Ruto, saying he was directly engaged in the negotiations that produced the supposed arrangement.Addressing a public gathering, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) chief insisted that Mudavadi pocketed KSh20 million for his political vehicle.

He also objected to Mudavadi’s latest comments about Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, head of the Linda Mwananchi Movement.

Gachagua wondered why Mudavadi was attacking Sifuna when he had supposedly agreed to surrender his own party in exchange for cash.

The ex-deputy president’s statements arrive amid mounting political friction between him and leaders aligned with Ruto’s government.

ANC earlier teamed up with Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in a political pact that ultimately saw the two outfits unite.

The deal was formally unveiled at State House in Nairobi, where UDA representatives confirmed that ANC had consented to disband and merge with the governing party. After the union, adjustments were made to the party’s leadership setup, with a number of ex-ANC officials landing roles in the new structure.

The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties subsequently issued a gazette notice verifying ANC’s voluntary dissolution once its National Delegates Congress endorsed the decision.

Gachagua’s newest claims have now drawn fresh scrutiny to the events surrounding the merger, especially the monetary arrangements that might have been part of it.

His assertion that Ruto paid Mudavadi KSh20 million for ANC is expected to fuel more political argument, given the party’s weight in Mudavadi’s political career.

Neither Mudavadi nor Ruto had publicly responded to the specific KSh20 million claim by the time of publication.
