This is because the confirmation message usually displays the recipient’s business name instead of their phone number.

According to information shared on October 30, 2026, customers who mistakenly send money to the wrong Pochi la Biashara account should contact Safaricom customer care for assistance.

The first option is to call 234 and follow the voice prompts until they reach a customer care representative. Alternatively, customers can dial 100 and follow the instructions to speak to an agent.

Once connected, explain that you accidentally sent money to the wrong Pochi la Biashara account and request assistance with reversing the transaction.

The customer care agent may ask for details such as the amount sent and the business name displayed in the confirmation message. These details will help Safaricom trace the transaction.

Customers should keep their M-Pesa confirmation message ready when making the call.
