Africa’s data must benefit its people, not foreign tech firms – Sam George

Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George says Africa must strengthen control over its data and negotiate collectively in global technology markets to avoid remaining a passive consumer of foreign technologies.He maintains that African data must serve the continent’s interests, warning against its extraction and commercialisation without adequate local benefit.
