George Ruto reacts to Bayern Munich vs Ajax match set at Raila Odinga International Stadium
George Ruto, the son of President William Ruto, has reacted to the upcoming exhibition match between German football giants Bayern Munich and Dutch side Ajax, which is scheduled to take place in Nairobi in January 2027.
George shared a poster advertising the highly anticipated fixture, featuring the two clubs and the date of the match, alongside a brief caption.
“Very bad,” George wrote on Thursday, October 29,2026.
His short reaction comes after President William Ruto announced that the two European clubs would face each other at the newly constructed Raila Odinga International Stadium on January 5, 2027.
The fixture will mark the official opening of the stadium, located at Talanta Sports City in Nairobi, and is expected to attract football fans eager to watch the European sides play on Kenyan soil.
Bayern Munich confirmed the fixture, with the match also expected to form part of Kenya’s preparations for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which the country will co-host with Uganda and Tanzania.
The announcement has generated discussion among Kenyan football fans, with the prospect of watching two prominent European clubs face off locally drawing attention online.
Bayern Munich are among Germany’s most successful clubs, while Ajax have a rich history in Dutch and European football. The two teams have also won multiple European titles.
According to the announcement, the match will give local supporters an opportunity to experience an international football fixture featuring the two clubs at the new stadium.
Kenyans hoping to attend the match will be able to start purchasing tickets on Thursday, November 5, 2026, through the official Talanta Sports City website.
The 60,000-capacity Raila Odinga International Stadium is expected to play an important role in Kenya’s preparations for AFCON 2027, which will return to East Africa for the first time in more than five decades.
The Bayern Munich vs Ajax encounter will therefore serve as an early international football event at the facility ahead of the continental tournament.
For fans, the January 5 fixture will provide an opportunity to watch two well-known European clubs in action without travelling abroad.
