Kenya halts avocado sea shipments over low production

Kenya will stop sea shipments of four avocado varieties from Friday, October 30, 2026, after a survey by the Agriculture and Food Authority (AFA) found production volumes too low to support exports by sea.In a notice issued on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the Authority said the closure would affect Hass, Fuerte, Pinkerton and Jumbo varieties following an assessment of major avocado-growing areas.
