Ruto Heads To Russia-Africa Forum Seeking New Markets, Investment And Jobs For Kenyans
President William Ruto has travelled to Moscow to attend the Third Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, seeking new markets, investment and jobs for Kenyans.
The visit will focus on expanding trade between Kenya and Russia while strengthening economic ties with African countries. Ruto will seek better market access for Kenyan tea, coffee, cut flowers, fresh produce and value-added goods.
As the African Union champion of the African Continental Free Trade Area, the President will promote opportunities for African products and businesses. He will also seek investment in agro-processing, manufacturing, energy and infrastructure.
Technology will feature in the discussions, with possible partnerships in artificial intelligence, digital innovation and technology transfer. These initiatives could help young people gain skills while supporting businesses and Kenya’s digital economy.
The engagements will focus on affordable agricultural inputs and food security. At the Africa-Russia Business Roundtable, Ruto will present Kenya as an attractive investment destination and a gateway to African markets.
He is expected to encourage joint ventures and commercial partnerships that support local industries, create jobs for ordinary Kenyans and increase the value of Kenyan exports.
The forum will also address global peace, regional security and peaceful conflict resolution. African leaders are expected to call for reforms in global governance and stronger representation in international decision-making.
Discussions will emphasise partnerships based on mutual respect and sovereign equality. Leaders will explore cooperation that supports industrialisation, economic transformation and shared prosperity.
On the sidelines, Ruto is expected to meet heads of state and government, international organisations, financial institutions and major companies. The meetings aim to attract investment, open markets and secure partnerships that support Kenya’s economic plans.
The announcement was made by State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohamed on October 27, 2026.
