“Love of My Life” — Kenyans React as Methu Sends Romantic Words to a Little-Known Woman

Nyandarua Senator John Methu has shared a heartfelt birthday message to his wife, Florence Methu, expressing his love and wishing her blessings as she marks her special day.

In a post shared on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the senator described Florence as his best friend and the love of his life, drawing attention to a personal side of the politician who often makes headlines over national politics.

“Happiest birthday, my best friend, the love of my life, Mama Florence Methu,” Methu wrote.

He went on to wish his wife good health, favour, wealth and peace, asking God to continue blessing her as she celebrates another year.

The message was accompanied by a photo of Florence, who is also known as Florence Mbugua. The senator’s public tribute focused on his wife and the important place she holds in his life.

Methu and Florence have occasionally appeared together at public and church functions. However, the senator generally keeps details of his family life away from the public spotlight, making the birthday message a special moment for those who follow his public activities.

The tribute comes as Methu continues to attract attention in Kenya’s political scene. On Monday, October 26, reports covered his response to claims by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro over money allegedly lent to him to buy a car following the Ol Kalou parliamentary by-election.

Despite the political attention surrounding him, Tuesday’s message shifted the focus to his family, with Methu taking time to celebrate his wife publicly.

His words also served as a birthday wish to Florence, as he prayed for her health, peace and prosperity in the year ahead.

The message offered a glimpse into the senator’s personal life beyond his political engagements.

As Florence celebrates her birthday, Kenyans may join the senator in wishing her well. What message would you send to Mama Florence Methu on her special day?
