Thabiso Malatsi Reveals What Kaizer Chiefs Did That Could Cost Them Dearly

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Thabiso “Skapie” Malatsi has questioned the club’s decision to continue backing head coach Fernando Da Cruz following the team’s elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.

Chiefs’ continental campaign ended in disappointment, raising further questions about the direction of the club under Da Cruz. The latest criticism from Malatsi adds to the scrutiny surrounding the coach as supporters continue to look for signs of progress from the Soweto giants.

Malatsi believes Da Cruz may not be the right man to lead Amakhosi, challenging the club’s decision to maintain its support for the coach despite the disappointing outcome in Africa.

The Confederation Cup exit represents another setback for a club whose supporters expect consistent performances and meaningful progress in major competitions. Chiefs have been working to rebuild their standing after difficult seasons, making the team’s results and coaching decisions subjects of intense debate.

For Malatsi, the decision to back Da Cruz raises questions about whether the current technical leadership can deliver what the club needs. His comments reflect concerns about the direction of the team and whether a different approach may be required to achieve the desired results.

However, the criticism does not necessarily mean Chiefs will change their position on the coach. The club’s leadership will have to assess the team’s performances and determine whether it believes Da Cruz remains the right person to oversee its plans.

For now, the coach faces continued scrutiny following the continental disappointment, while Chiefs supporters will be hoping the team can respond positively in its domestic commitments.

Malatsi’s remarks have added another voice to the debate over Da Cruz’s future and whether Chiefs should continue to place their trust in him as they seek to return to the level expected of one of South African football’s biggest clubs.
