Ruto Launches 10km Road in Machakos as Farmers Set to Benefit From Better Market Access

President William Ruto has launched the 10-kilometre Matuu–Kyasioni Road in Machakos County, in a project expected to improve transport and boost economic activities in the area.

According to the Kenya Rural Roads Authority (KeRRA), the road will improve access to schools, health centres, administrative offices and other essential services once completed.

The project is also expected to benefit farmers by making it easier to transport agricultural produce to markets, reducing travel time and lowering transport costs.

KeRRA said the improved road would help minimise post-harvest losses and give farmers better access to markets for their produce.

“The project is expected to boost economic activities, improve service delivery and enhance the livelihoods of communities along the road corridor,” KeRRA stated in its announcement.

The road is expected to improve movement for residents and businesses while supporting trade and access to essential services in the surrounding communities.
