The Ghanaian music scene was buzzing at that time, with talented artistes who dominated the charts, delivering hit after hit that topped playlists and shaped the sound of the era.

Here are some unforgettable tracks from 2016:

E.L – “Mi Naa Bo Po”

This was a vibrant anthem that even won Afropop Song of the Year at the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA, now TGMA). Its confident flair and infectious rhythm cemented E. L’s reputation as one of the era’s most versatile hitmakers.

Bisa Kdei – “Mansa”

Mansa is a romantic highlife tune that bagged ‘Highlife Song of the Year’. It became a staple at weddings and events, reinforcing Bisa Kdei’s dominance in contemporary highlife.

Kofi Kinaata – “Confession”

This song is a storytelling masterpiece with relatable lyrics, showcasing Kinaata’s lyrical dexterity and deep connection with everyday experiences.

Stonebwoy – “Go Higher” and “People Dey”

These were motivational jams that blended Dancehall and Afrobeats, inspiring fans across the country.
