Sowore Reacts As DSS Arraign Atiku’s Supporter For Circulating A Fake Letter Of President Tinubu
In a post on his X account on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the Department of State Services (DSS)’s action against a supporter of Atiku Abubakar accused of circulating a fake letter purportedly written by the president.
Reacting to a post by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga announcing the case against the suspect, Mubarak Abdullahi, also known as Sardaunan Samari, Sowore questioned the government’s handling of the matter and accused it of turning the DSS into an instrument for suppressing opposition. “How low will you go, @OfficialAPCNg and the @officialABAT regime?” he asked.
The AAC candidate continued: “How on earth do you reduce a national security agency like the @OfficialDSSNG to a mere vacuum cleaner, deployed to sweep up dissenting voices in your inordinate ambition to subdue every citizen simply because you are afraid to face the Nigerian people and account for your disastrous reign?”
Sowore described the arrest of a citizen over a document shared online as troubling, writing: “Arresting a hapless citizen for posting a document online, sad! Shame on all of you! A day of reckoning is coming, when you too will be held accountable for your actions. That day is coming sooner than you think. Very soon!.”
According to Onanuga, Abdullahi was arrested on September 28 for sharing a document purportedly written by Tinubu to the President of the United States on his Facebook page. The post reportedly carried the caption, “ATIKU IS COMING.” Onanuga stated that the suspect admitted to investigators that he had shared the document and apologised for his actions.
