Suspected drug dealer nabbed in Philipstown raid
A DAWN raid in Philipstown has led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer after the police seized dagga worth more than R5,000 and cash at a property in Plakkerskamp.
Officers searched the premises at about 4.30am on October 24, acting on a search warrant.
According to the police, they found dagga with an estimated street value exceeding R5,000 and confiscated a substantial amount of cash. The amount was not disclosed.
A 40-year-old male foreign national was arrested and charged with dealing in drugs.
The raid forms part of ongoing police operations targeting drug dealing across the Northern Cape.
The police said targeted operations would continue throughout the festive season, with officers focusing on disrupting drug distribution networks, seizing illegal substances and arresting suspects.
Residents were urged to report suspected drug-related activity to help police tackle dealing in their communities.
