Ruto Launches Wote-Kako-Ngoluni Road Project to Boost Agriculture in Makueni

President William Ruto has launched the construction of the Wote-Kako-Ngoluni road in Mbooni Constituency, Makueni County, in a move aimed at improving transport infrastructure and boosting agricultural activities in the region.

The project, launched at Kako, is expected to be completed within 15 months and will improve connectivity across the agriculture-rich area, making it easier for farmers to transport their produce to markets.

Speaking during the launch, President Ruto said the road investment would be a game-changer for farmers by reducing transportation challenges, minimizing post-harvest losses and increasing their earnings.

The improved road network is expected to facilitate the movement of agricultural produce from farms to markets, helping farmers access buyers more efficiently and potentially improve returns from their farming activities.

Better transport infrastructure is also expected to support local trade and improve connectivity for residents who depend on roads to access essential services and economic opportunities.

The 15-month construction timeline is expected to guide the implementation of the project, which forms part of broader efforts to improve road infrastructure and support economic development in rural communities.

Agriculture remains a key economic activity in Makueni County, making reliable transport infrastructure important for farmers seeking to move produce to markets while reducing losses associated with delays and difficult road conditions.

The Wote-Kako-Ngoluni road project is expected to strengthen market access and support agricultural productivity, with farmers and traders among those anticipated to benefit from improved connectivity once construction is completed.
