I will turn my back on Bawumia if we cross paths – Nana Yaa Jantuah
Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah says she would turn her back on former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia if he attempted to hug her, despite commending Chief of Staff Julius Debrah for embracing him at a funeral over the weekend.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Madam Jantuah described Mr Debrah as a calm, kind, and approachable person who treats people warmly, regardless of their backgrounds.
She said his decision to hug Dr. Bawumia was commendable, although she would not personally extend the same gesture to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer.
“Julius Debrah is a calm man; he is kind and open to all. So, if he has hugged Bawumia, it is a good thing. But if it was me, I would have turned my back to Bawumia,” she said.
Madam Jantuah explained that her position was based on personal experiences, although she did not wish to make the matter public.
“This issue is not something I want to make public, but it is based on what I have witnessed. God bless Julius Debrah for hugging Bawumia, but I won’t do that,” she added.
She further praised Mr Debrah’s ability to manage his official responsibilities alongside his private life and business interests.
“When you go to his office, it is like a clinic, the kind of people that come there. But he manages his office, his private life, and his businesses very well,” she said.
Reiterating her position, Madam Jantuah said she would not welcome a hug from Dr Bawumia if they encountered each other.
“I’ll turn my back on Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia if he tries to hug when our paths cross,” she stated.
