Stop The Witch-Hunt, Sammy Gyamfi Is Leading Ghana To Prosperity

A Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Mining Research and Policy, Dr. Ofori Kodua, has defended the leadership of Sammy Gyamfi and described calls for his resignation as baseless.

According to Dr. Kodua, Sammy Gyamfi has shown strong and responsible leadership that is giving Ghana a clear path to prosperity in the mining sector.

“Sammy Gyamfi’s sterling leadership offers Ghana a strong path to prosperity and responsible mining. Minority’s call for his resignation is unfounded,” he said.

Dr. Kodua explained that under Sammy Gyamfi, there have been efforts to ensure Ghana benefits more from its gold and mineral resources. He said the focus on responsible mining, transparency, and accountability is exactly what the country needs to stop losing money in the mining sector.

He added that instead of attacking Sammy Gyamfi, the Minority should rather support reforms that will help Ghana get full value from its natural resources.

His comment comes after the Minority in Parliament called for the resignation of Sammy Gyamfi over recent controversies surrounding him. The Minority argued that his actions have damaged public trust.

But Dr. Ofori Kodua disagrees. He believes the calls for resignation are politically motivated and not based on facts or performance. For him, Sammy Gyamfi’s work so far has been impressive and in the best interest of Ghana.

He is urging Ghanaians to look at the bigger picture — a Ghana that mines responsibly, keeps more of its gold money at home, and uses it for development.
