Bank of Ghana Announces Official Daily Exchange Rates for Monday, October 26th, 2026

The Bank of Ghana has announced the daily exchange rates for Monday, 26 October 2026. These rates are the average interbank rates used by commercial banks. They are based on transactions at the close of business on Friday, 23 October 2026.

The US dollar is buying at ₵11.6442 and selling at ₵11.6558. The gap between the two rates is small. This shows a stable interbank market for the dollar.

The British pound sterling is buying at ₵15.5636 and selling at ₵15.5803. The pound remains the strongest of the three currencies listed. Customers who deal in pounds will need more cedis for each unit than for the dollar or the euro.

The euro is buying at ₵13.0348 and selling at ₵13.0467. It sits between the dollar and the pound in value. The difference between its buying and selling rates is also narrow.

The buying rate is the price at which banks purchase foreign currency from customers. The selling rate is the price at which banks sell foreign currency to customers. The selling rate is always slightly higher than the buying rate. This difference is how banks cover their costs and earn a margin.

These rates serve as a reference for many people. Importers use them to estimate the cost of goods from abroad. Exporters use them to calculate their earnings in cedis. Students, travellers and families who receive money from relatives overseas also depend on them. Businesses use them for budgeting and planning.

It is important to note that these are interbank rates. Individual banks and forex bureaus may apply their own margins. Customers should therefore confirm the final rate with their service provider before they complete a transaction.

The Bank of Ghana publishes these rates every working day. This practice supports transparency in the foreign exchange market. It also helps the public make informed financial decisions.
