Today’s Headlines: I’ll Insult You If You Insult Tinubu — Igboho; Sultan Hails Benin Monarch

Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has slammed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for mocking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Igboho, in a viral video on Sunday, described Makinde’s stage-jumping stunt as childish and disrespectful to the President.

He said, “He was jumping around like a frog and a mad man, insulting Tinubu, saying Tinubu can’t jump like him as if he doesn’t have a father.”

Igboho warned that he will not tolerate any insult on Tinubu, declaring: “If you insult Tinubu, I will insult you back.”

The Sultan of Sokoto and President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, His Eminence Sa’ad Abubakar III, has described the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, as a role model to traditional rulers in Nigeria.

The Sultan made the statement over the weekend during a royal Durbar organised as part of activities marking the Benin monarch’s 10th coronation anniversary.

The Durbar has become a recurring feature since Oba Ewuare II ascended the throne of his ancestors 10 years ago.

Represented by the Emir of Kagara, Niger State, Malam Ahmed Garba Gunna, the Sultan paid tribute to Oba Ewuare, who rode on horseback from his palace to Garrick Memorial Ground to lead a massive crowd at the royal horse race.

Professionals must preserve independent thinking and personal judgement as artificial intelligence becomes more widely used in the workplace, a growth and performance marketing professional, Joel Ozue, has said.

Ozue said the growing accessibility of generative AI tools was making it easier for workers and businesses to produce polished content, reports and presentations, but warned that reliance on similar systems could make professional communication increasingly generic.

The expert argued that the ability to use the technology was becoming less of a competitive advantage as more people gained access to similar tools.

“The challenge begins when efficiency becomes a substitute for thinking,” Ozue told The PUNCH, distinguishing between using AI to develop an idea and relying on it to generate the idea entirely.
