Mrs Soludo Enjoins Anambra Residents To Take Precautions Against Extreme Heat
Wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr.( Mrs) Nonye Soludo, has enjoined residents in the state to take precautionary measures against extreme heat so as to protect their health and prevent heat-related illnesses.
Mrs Soludo gave the advice in a health advisory om Sunday on and urged families to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, wear light clothing and ensure adequate ventilation in their homes.
“As we head deep into a period of increased heat, I encourage every family to take simple but important precautions to protect their health,” she said.
She urged residents to pay special attention to vulnerable groups, including the elderly, babies and persons living with hypertension, diabetes and kidney disease, noting that they could be more vulnerable to extreme heat.
She also encouraged residents to check on their loved ones, particularly in the mornings and evenings, to ensure their well-being during the period of increased temperatures.
She advised that anyone showing signs of severe heat illness should be moved to a cool place, have their body cooled and receive immediate emergency medical attention.
Mrs Soludo reminded residents that the state’s emergency line remained 112, urging them to act promptly in emergencies.
“Remember that a little caution today can save a life tomorrow,” she said.
