Sarkodie Draws Praise From An NPP Bigwig As Rapperholic26 Fills Baba Yara Stadium

Prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) figure Dennis Edward Aboagye has praised rapper Sarkodie as “special” after the artiste’s Rapperholic26 concert filled the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

Aboagye, popularly known as Miracles, shared a photo of Sarkodie on stage on X on Sunday, with the caption “This guy” and fire emojis, tagging the rapper and adding that he is special. The image shows Sarkodie smiling and holding a microphone, with a drum kit visible behind him. The post did not say where or when the photo was taken. It had drawn about 90 likes and 600 views at the time of the screenshot.

Aboagye is a member of the NPP’s communications team and a former presidential staffer responsible for local government and decentralisation. He is also a former Municipal Chief Executive of Akuapem North and a former Executive Secretary of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation. In August, he filed his nomination to contest the NPP’s Director of Communications position, saying he had given about 23 years of service to the party.

His post follows the second Kumasi edition of Rapperholic, held on Saturday, 24 October, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium. Adom News reported that the stadium was filled to capacity and that the show ran through the night into Sunday morning.

Several artistes performed. KiDi, Sista Afia, Lasmid and Mr Drew were among the acts, and Adom News said Lasmid particularly thrilled the crowd. Kuami Eugene also performed. Television personality Nana Ama McBrown and Ama Burland were among the personalities spotted at the event.

Rapperholic26 is the second consecutive year the concert has been staged in Kumasi. The first, Rapperholic: The Homecoming, was held on 27 September 2025 and drew thousands to the same venue despite heavy rain, ending around 4am, according to Graphic Online. Shatta Wale, Obrafour, Efya, Kofi Kinaata and Medikal were among the performers.

No official attendance figure had been released at the time of writing.
