The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has forecast rainfall in several parts of the country on Monday, October 26, with showers and thunderstorms expected in various counties during the morning and afternoon.

Kwale and Kilifi counties are expected to receive moderate showers in several places in the morning, followed by showers and thunderstorms in several areas during the afternoon.

Mombasa is also forecast to receive moderate showers in several places in the morning, with sunny intervals and light showers expected in a few areas in the afternoon. In Lamu, moderate showers are expected in several places in the morning, followed by afternoon showers in a few areas.

In the Northeastern region, Wajir and Mandera counties are expected to experience rain in several places in the morning. Moderate showers and thunderstorms are forecast in a few areas during the afternoon.

Marsabit is expected to receive morning rain in a few places, followed by sunny intervals accompanied by light showers and thunderstorms in some areas.

Garissa is forecast to experience light rains in a few places in the morning, with sunny intervals and light showers expected in a few areas during the afternoon.

In Western Kenya, Kakamega is expected to receive showers and thunderstorms in a few places during the afternoon after sunny intervals in the morning. Bungoma, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu and Siaya are also forecast to experience afternoon showers and thunderstorms in a few areas.

Vihiga, Busia and Kisumu are expected to experience sunny intervals in the morning, followed by sunny conditions accompanied by light showers and thunderstorms in a few places during the afternoon.

In the Rift Valley region, Kericho and Bomet are forecast to experience sunny intervals in the morning, with showers and thunderstorms expected in a few places in the afternoon.

Similar afternoon conditions are forecast in Nakuru, Nandi and Baringo, while West Pokot is expected to receive light showers and thunderstorms in a few areas.

In the Central Highlands, Nyandarua, Nyeri, Murang’a and Kiambu are expected to experience cloudy conditions and sunny intervals in the morning, followed by sunny intervals and light showers in a few places during the afternoon. Kirinyaga is forecast to receive showers in a few areas later in the day.

Nairobi is expected to experience sunny intervals in the morning, with showers forecast in a few places in the afternoon.

Other counties likely to experience afternoon showers include Taita Taveta, Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Embu, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Samburu, Laikipia, Narok, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira. Some of these counties are expected to experience sunny intervals alongside the showers.SOURCE.
