There Are Videos And Photos Showing Delegates Giving Money And Fans To Induce Them To Vote—PK

According to a Post on PK Sarpong official facebook account on Sunday, October 25,2026,Ghanaian social commentator P.K. Sarpong has criticised what he describes as double standards among political commentators following allegations of vote buying and violence during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) constituency executives’ elections.

In a Facebook post titled “Whispers from the Corridors of the Thinking Place,” Sarpong questioned the apparent silence of individuals who frequently speak about good governance, accountability and corruption in Ghanaian politics.

He alleged that videos and photographs circulating on social media showed incidents of chaos and violence during the NDC’s internal elections, alongside claims that delegates were offered money and items such as electric fans, pressing irons, mobile phones and television sets to influence their votes.

Sarpong argued that the reaction from political commentators would have been different if similar allegations had emerged during the administration of former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to him, individuals who previously criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) over alleged corruption would likely have been more vocal in condemning the reported incidents had they occurred under the previous government.

The commentator accused some advocates of good governance of applying different standards when assessing the conduct of political parties, suggesting that their criticism was influenced by partisan interests.

He maintained that allegations of electoral misconduct should attract scrutiny regardless of the political party involved, stressing the importance of consistency in public discussions about accountability and democratic standards.

Sarpong also challenged claims of political neutrality among some commentators, arguing that their positions should be assessed against their willingness to criticise both the governing party and the opposition when controversies arise.
