‘You Created Hunger And Poverty,’ Tinubu Tells Opposition At Kaduna Campaign Kick-Off

According to a report by the official Facebook page of Channels Television on Saturday, October 24, 2026, President Bola Tinubu accused his political opponents of creating the hunger and poverty they now criticize his administration over.

Tinubu made the statement at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna, after arriving in the state with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu. The event launched the party’s campaign for the 2027 presidential election.

“I hear my opponents talking about hunger and poverty. Who created it? They did! To you, the children of our country, it’s a promise of a second term – prosperity; you will not regret it,” Tinubu said.

The President urged Nigerians to support continuity, progress and development by voting for him and all APC candidates in the 2027 election.

He maintained that his administration was working to tackle the economic challenges facing the country and deliver greater prosperity.

The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and former Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, also called on Nigerians to rally behind Tinubu.

Yari said the administration’s economic reforms and ongoing projects demonstrated its potential to achieve more.

He expressed confidence in the party’s chances and said campaign officials were engaging traditional rulers, religious leaders and community stakeholders.

Vice-President Kashim Shettima highlighted federal interventions in education, infrastructure and skills development, urging Kaduna residents to renew the mandates of Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani.

Governor Uba Sani praised Tinubu’s support for the North, citing interventions in transportation, education, healthcare, agriculture and security.

He assured the President that Northern voters would repay his benevolence with massive votes in 2027.

The rally attracted APC governors, ministers, lawmakers, party leaders and supporters from across the country as the ruling party began its nationwide campaign ahead of the election.
