Mobile Water assures consumers of strict franchise quality controls
Accra, Oct. 24, GNA – Mr Magnus Nunoo, Chief Executive Officer of Magvlyn Industries, says all Mobile Water franchise operators are subject to strict quality controls to safeguard product safety and public health.
The assurance comes amid public concerns about quality standards in the sachet water industry and the growing use of franchising arrangements by some producers.
Mr Nunoo gave the assurance at the 30th anniversary celebration of Magvlyn Industries, recognised as Ghana’s first sachet water producer.
He said the company required all franchisees to comply with stringent quality, operational and safety standards to protect consumers and preserve the integrity of the Mobile Water brand.
Mr Nunoo observed that the rapid expansion of the sachet water industry had attracted many new entrants and, in some cases, contributed to declining quality standards.
He expressed concern that some operators had adopted franchising arrangements that allowed the use of established brands without adequate oversight of production processes and standards.
However, Mr Nunoo said Magvlyn Industries had structured its franchising model to ensure strict compliance with established quality requirements.
βThere was a need for us to enter into partnerships, which is why we ventured into franchising. However, we carefully structured the arrangement and revised our agreements to ensure that quality standards are maintained,β he said.
Mr Nunoo said all franchisees were required to use company-approved filtration equipment and production systems to ensure consistency in the quality of products sold under the brand.
βFor us, franchising is unique. When you become a franchisee, your filtration equipment and other production systems are provided and monitored through the company,β he said.
Mr Nunoo said the company conducted inspections of franchise facilities at least twice a month to verify compliance with safety and production requirements.
He said franchise operators who breached established standards could have their operations suspended until corrective measures were implemented.
Mr Nunoo said the company also maintained strict controls over the procurement of materials used in production to ensure adherence to approved specifications and quality standards.
He said the measures had enabled Mobile Water to maintain consumer confidence and uphold the quality standards associated with the brand over the past three decades.
