Kalonzo Announces Rally in This Region as Ruto Storms Ukambani Backyard with His ‘Tutam’ 2027 Agenda

Political heat has intensified across the country as key leaders have launched aggressive early campaigns ahead of the 2027 general election.

President William Ruto has made a high-profile entry into the Ukambani region to push his re-election drive. The Head of State has championed his popular “tutam” slogan, which signifies a two-term presidency, while addressing huge crowds during his developmental tour.

Ruto has framed his agenda around continuous economic transformation and completed development projects to win over the eastern political bloc.

Simultaneously, Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has responded by scheduling a major political rally.

According to an official social media update shared directly on Kalonzo’s verified X account, the opposition figure has confirmed a massive mobilization event themed “The Ukombozi Tour”.

Kalonzo has invited local residents to join him in Kirinyaga County for an interactive Sunday engagement.

The program has outlined a full schedule beginning with a morning worship service at ACK Church of Faith Ithare-ini, followed by public rallies at Ithare-ini Market, Kiamutugu, and Mwea.

This sudden clash of political activities has raised stakes between the ruling coalition and opposition forces.

While the President has actively pitched his administration’s achievements to secure solid support in the eastern heartland, opposition figures have rallied their supporters across Mount Kenya region to build counter-momentum.

Political observers have noted that these strategic moves have signaled an early start to campaign battles.

Both camps have steadily intensified their grassroots outreach programs, proving that the struggle for political control has already reached a fever pitch.
