Abronye Recieves Query After Praising Ibrahim Mahama

US-based New Patriotic Party (NPP) member and political commentator Jennifer Oppong has questioned what she perceives as a change in the political position of Bono Regional NPP Chairman Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, following comments concerning businessman Ibrahim Mahama.

In a Facebook post published on Friday, October 23, 2026, Oppong expressed surprise at Abronye’s apparent shift in focus, drawing attention to his previous political activities in support of former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Oppong recalled that Abronye had previously pledged to help the NPP secure parliamentary seats in the Bono Region as part of efforts to strengthen Bawumia’s political fortunes.

She contrasted those earlier commitments with what she described as Abronye’s current favourable remarks about Ibrahim Mahama, questioning the apparent difference between his past political stance and his more recent comments.

The NPP commentator also referenced Paul Yandoh and discussions about providing opportunities for young people in connection with Amoakohene. She cited these developments as part of her broader criticism of the unfolding political situation.

Expressing her reaction to the issues, Oppong declared that the situation was completely finished, accompanying her statement with a laughing emoji to convey her disbelief.

Her comments have added another dimension to discussions among NPP members and supporters about political alliances, party loyalty and the public statements of prominent party figures.

However, Oppong’s post reflects her personal interpretation of the developments. The precise circumstances surrounding the remarks she referenced, including Abronye’s comments about Ibrahim Mahama, would need to be established to provide a complete understanding of the matter.

The exchange highlights the scrutiny that political figures face from within their own parties, particularly when their public statements are perceived by fellow members as inconsistent with earlier positions or commitments.
