Sarkodie eyes festival expansion for Rapperholic, teases possible O₂ Arena Show in 2027

Share on TwitterShare on Whatsapp Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has revealed plans to transform his annual Rapperholic concert into a festival featuring diverse musical experiences beyond his headline performance.

Speaking in an interview on Y102.5FM in Kumasi, the award-winning artiste said he envisioned an expanded Rapperholic experience featuring activities such as a DJ Night, with DJs performing back-to-back, and a Highlife Night designed to appeal to different audiences.

He explained that the proposed concept would also cater to patrons, particularly older music lovers, who might prefer a more relaxed setting to enjoy music outside the main stadium concert.

“It’s a dream to see Rapperholic transform into a festival, to go beyond Sarkodie only coming to perform,” he said.

“Why not a Rapperholic DJ’s Night, a Rapperholic Highlife Night for our mothers who do not want to be at the stadium, and we find a nice place for them to come and enjoy,” he added.

Sarkodie expressed optimism about developing the concept in Kumasi, popularly known as Oseikrom, stressing the importance of quality production in creating memorable entertainment experiences.

His vision would broaden Rapperholic beyond its traditional concert format, potentially creating a platform for different musical genres and experiences while appealing to a wider audience.

Ahead of the upcoming edition of Rapperholic, the rapper also assured fans that security arrangements had been strengthened to ensure a smooth event.

“We have beefed up security in order to get a smooth event tomorrow,” he said.

He further encouraged fans to anticipate a possible event at London’s O₂ Arena in 2027, hinting at ambitions to take the Rapperholic experience to an international stage.

The proposed festival expansion and the prospect of an O₂ Arena event signal Sarkodie’s ambition to grow Rapperholic into a broader entertainment brand with a wider audience and an expanded live-music offering.
