For The First Time In Our Country, We’re Not Just Selling Crude Oil, We Are A Net Exporter” Showunmi

According to a video posted on Silverbird on Friday October 23, 2026, Segun Showunmi said Nigeria is the largest supplier of jet fuel to Europe. He described it as something that had not happened before in this lifetime. He spoke while listing what he says the administration has achieved.

Showunmi said the country is no longer only selling crude oil. He said Nigeria is a net exporter of petroleum products. He said this is happening for the first time.

In his words, Segun Showunmi said, “Do you realize that for the first time our country we’re now not just selling crude oil, we are a net exporter of petroleum products.” he said.

He said foreign exchange was once so difficult that Nigeria could not pay its bills. He said that is no longer the case, and that the country is now liquid even by its foreign holdings. He added that big organizations and big banks are coming in to the country’s credit.

Showunmi said the Central Bank governor has been promoted to chair organizations of other central banks in the world. He said the governor could not have reached that level if he was not doing something great. He said other nations are coming to Nigerians to ask them to solve economic problems.

He said the reform has brought pain, but the government had no choice. He said people are smiling more now and are getting about their activities more. He added that he is not saying Nigeria has reached El Dorado.

Showunmi said the government has gone over and above itself so that no child who wants to go to university has to beg to pay fees. He said paychecks and pensions are now paid when due. He said a paycheck is what an entire family depends on.
