John Kumah’s Widow Dismisses Poisoning Rumors, Confirms Cause Of Death
According to recent reports, Apostle Lilian Kumah, widow of the late Deputy Finance Minister and Ejisu Member of Parliament Dr. John Kumah, has firmly rejected claims that her husband was poisoned, clarifying that he died from a severe, underlying blood-related illness.
Speaking out to address ongoing public speculation, Apostle Kumah disclosed that her husband’s medical condition was first diagnosed in August 2023 following thorough medical evaluations in Germany. She emphasized that subsequent medical examinations conducted by doctors in both Germany and Ghana yielded no evidence of food contamination or chemical poisoning.
Her statements directly refute allegations circulated by broadcaster Captain Smart, which she described as false, unfounded, and deeply painful to the grieving family. She recalled that despite his declining health, Dr. Kumah remained dedicated to his public duties until he suffered a sudden relapse and was rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital on March 7, 2024, where he passed away.
Apostle Kumah expressed disappointment over the continuous spread of unverified rumors, noting that official medical records available to the family provide clear facts regarding his death. She urged the media and the public to rely on verified medical disclosures rather than sensational speculation, requesting privacy and respect for the family as they continue to mourn their loss.
